About Troy
Troy Lambert wrote his first book, George and the Giant Castle, when he was six years old. Teachers, counselors and nearly everyone around him called writing a fine hobby and a poor way to make a living, and he spent the next three decades collecting name tags, hairnets and careers before he proved them wrong.
He has now written more than thirty books, fiction and nonfiction. His fiction runs from the grief-driven Max Boucher mysteries to the Las Vegas crime syndicate of The Solitaire Series, from a federal agency that polices monsters to a newly divorced Cthulhu on a road trip with the only woman more evil than he is. Whatever the genre, his stories follow flawed people chasing the truth through morally gray country, and they rarely end where you expect. He has written alongside Vincent Zandri, Kristen Lamb, CJ Rizk and Marlie Harris, and he narrates the Solitaire episodes himself.
When he isn’t writing, Troy helps other writers as an editor and coach at The Plot Abides, co-hosts the Pros Talking Prose podcast, and speaks at conferences like LTUE. A native of Idaho Falls, he lives in Western Idaho, where he hikes the mountains, fishes fast water and takes long drives to work out the next twist, usually with his German Shepherd, McClane, along for the ride.
